Brenda as a child with repaired cleft lip and palate.
Brenda's Story As you may know, my mother Brenda Smith was born with a cleft lip and palate. She always wanted to help other children with the same condition get the necessary procedures needed to correct the problem and give them a smile. We have decided to set up a fundraiser to Smile Train to honor mom's wish. In lieu of flowers, please donate thru our fundraiser here. $250 will provide one child with the corrective surgery. We are hoping to raise a minimum of $500 to help at least two children. Any additional money raised will go to help other children.
A little about Smile Train's mission: Smile Train is an international children’s charity with a sustainable approach to a single, solvable problem: cleft lip and palate.
Many children with clefts around the world live in isolation, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. Cleft surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate. Smile Train’s sustainable model provides training, funding, and resources to empower local doctors in 70+ countries to provide 100%-free cleft surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities.
Thank you! Thank you for supporting my fundraiser with Smile Train – together we can change the world one smile at a time!
