As a future speech language pathologists I have learned in depth about the development, management, and treatment of cleft lips and palates. However, in November 2019 I was blessed with the opportunity to join a journey of smiles trip to the Philippines. I witnessed firsthand the incredible partnership Smile Train has with local hospitals and community centers. I interacted with beautiful children and families and learned about the Speech Camp hosted by a local University. The trip sparked my desire to dedicate myself fully to Smile Train and I am excited to serve as a member of the YLC board.
